Read the theme verse for this series – Matthew 22:37: Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Here are the questions that our church submitted for Vic and Kathy to answer. Watch or listen to the service, and discuss them together as a group.

1. Was Jesus a vegan?  A friend of mine says Jesus was, and I can’t find anything in the Bible that says he actually ate meat, even fish.  I myself am vegan, and very curious about this.

2. Does a Christian have to be a Republican? There are some Republican political figures I just can’t support, but I feel like I always have to bite my tongue around my Christian friends. I feel like people will question my salvation if they find out I’m not a Republican. (Please don’t share my name! Let’s say, “I’m just asking for a friend!”)

3. Is it a sin to wish (and even pray for) harm to befall an evil person such as Putin?

4. How do you start a conversation about your faith with someone who seems resistant to talk about faith? How bold should one be? And how persistent?

5. Does God ever give up on us?  Was the flood God giving up on people?

6. Isn’t free will part of the equation of “Everything happens for a reason”?

7. Why did God give people free will?  If I weren’t already convinced of God’s great wisdom, I would think it was a lapse in judgment on his part.  Why did he give us the keys, when he knew we’d just drive ourselves off a cliff the first chance we got?

8. How do we reconcile the belief that God is sovereign over absolutely everything, even the evil one, and yet evil prevails in this world?

9. What’s the best way to learn about the Bible if you have not been actively attending church for over 45 years and are just get started?
