Food Pantry

General Information

Our Hope in Action food pantry distribution takes place on the 2nd Friday of every month from 6pm-7pm and is located in the church lobby. If you are in need of food assistance there are no income or proof of citizenship requirements. Once the pantry officially opens, the wait time for guests is between 15-20 minutes. In compliance with our partners, Feeding South Florida and the USDA, first time guests are welcome but will be asked to fill out paperwork.

We ask all our guests to arrive no earlier than 4pm to avoid conflict with establishing the start of the line. Smoking is allowed in designated areas only and we ask that all waste is disposed in the proper containers. Pantry ID cards are issued to all guests and guests must present them to receive food. In the event a registered guest cannot attend the distribution, they can allow 1 additional person to receive food for them but must list that person on their Pantry ID card.

Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to food contributions, volunteer assistance is vital to the operations of the Hope in Action Food Pantry. As a result, we need volunteers to help with the prep nights the Thursday before the distribution from 5pm-7pm. During this time, volunteers bring food from the Hope in Action Building to the lobby and set-up tables, chairs, and signs. We need 15-18 volunteers each month for the prep night.

Distributions are the 2nd Friday of every month and we ask our volunteers to arrive no later than 5:30pm. We need 18-20 volunteers at each distribution. The distribution ends no earlier than 7pm. Afterward, volunteers are asked to set and help with clean up and tear down. Below are the different volunteer positions available at each distribution:

  • Check-in desk
  • Guest Host: greeting guests and walking them through the choice items area
  • Packed food station: carrying the pre-packed food to guests’ cars (must be able to lift at least 30 lbs)
  • Set-up/tear down

Volunteers are asked to wear closed toed shoes at all times. If you are interested in volunteering with the Hope in Action Food Pantry, follow the link below.
