Dollar Club

Dollar Club is on temporary hold while we navigate our response to COVID-19.

A dollar makes the difference.

The Dollar Club is one more way we as a church Love the 561. Each week, we count attendance across all of our campuses and expressions and give that amount away to someone in need.

We invite you to be a part of Dollar Club by bringing an extra dollar for each member of your household attending church. The extra dollars can be given during the offering time in service. If you know someone in need of financial assistance, please see below for more details.

Dollar Club Nominations

March 7 & 8

Showing the love of Christ to our local community is a privilege and blessing! The Dollar Club donation of $1,794 goes to the family friends of a Community of Hope Partner. Sadly, the husband of the couple nominated had to have emergency open heart surgery; this has put a financial burden on the family and they are struggling to make ends meet. The Dollar Club donation will ease the financial burden during this difficult time.

February 29 & March 1

The recipients of this week’s Dollar Club donation is a family that became connected to Community of Hope through our food pantry. Due to unfortunate circumstances, they are enduring financial struggles, resulting in them needing to live out of their car. While they continue to look for permanent housing, the Dollar Club donation will ease some of their financial burdens. This week’s funding had an additional contribution from an anonymous donor making the total $2,034, what a blessing!

February 22 & 23

This week’s Dollar Club nominee is battling stage 4 cancer and is struggling to choose between paying bills and affording chemotherapy treatments. It is with prayerful hearts that we are able to provide the Dollar Club contribution of $1,897 to the nominee in hopes of relieving some financial burden in this difficult time.

February 15 & 16

The generous Dollar Club donation of $1,992 this week goes to a dedicated Community of Hope Partner whose spouse recently passed away suddenly. In addition to grieving the devastating loss of their spouse, the nominee is experiencing great financial struggle. Being too young to collect social security, The Dollar Club will help pay their mortgage for the month and relieve some financial stressors.

Please read before you fill out an application:

Thank you for your interest in Community of Hope’s Dollar Club. We’re excited to be a part of expanding our generosity in our own community, and to be used to show the love of Jesus Christ in a practical way!

As you might imagine, the number of requests we receive each week is overwhelming, and yet we view this unique opportunity as a chance to specifically increase our ability to be generous 52 times a year! Our goal is simple: we endeavor through the Dollar Club to serve the needs of families in our own community, sharing God’s love in a practical way, and to show the Community of Hope family the power of the church banding together to do some good!

With all of this said, here’s how the Dollar Club works:

  1. A completed application is required to be considered for the Dollar Club. (It is allowable to nominate yourself for consideration.)

    1. Once your request is submitted, you will not be contacted again unless additional information is needed to process your application. There is no need to contact any church staff regarding your application, as they are not a part of the Dollar Club team and do not make decisions regarding the recipient.

    2. Applications are sent to an anonymous and confidential team for selection. This team will collectively choose the weekly recipient, and this person will be contacted.

    3. Selections usually take place within a two-week period. Should this time pass, it is likely that the team has felt led to assist another candidate.

    4. It is not necessary to be a partner at Community of Hope to be a recipient. The team selects recipients based upon needs and the sense of God’s leading. Church attendance or partnership is not a prerequisite.

    5. Please remember that the amount given each week is based upon the total number of weekly attendance (all COH campuses –all COH service venues).

    6. No money is given to an individual, but instead provided to lessen financial burden – rent, mortgage, repair, etc.

Lastly, we invite you to pray that God would lead our church in the selection of each recipient, and that our COH family would all feel led to participate and join in the Dollar Club challenge!
