Street Eats

Fighting homelessness one bag at a time.

Street Eats bags are a simple, effective way of helping homeless people you encounter around town. You can use gallon sized bags to fill with items that are useful to someone on the streets. We suggest keeping these bags in your car to give to homeless people you encounter on the road. Many small groups in our church take time to make these bags to keep in their cars and they often make a surplus to share with the church. Small group made bags, when available, can be found by the missions wall in the lobby.

Suggested items for bags
  • Water bottle(s)
  • Chewy granola bars
  • Nuts
  • Dried Fruit
  • Bus vouchers
  • Rain ponchos
  • Heating blankets
  • Encouraging notes
Be safe

Use discernment when you give out your Street Eat bags. Many of your best chances to give a Street Eats bag to a person in need will be at major traffic intersections. If you are at a safe stop and the person is within reach, go for it! We highly suggest not holding up traffic or calling someone across multiple lanes of traffic to give them a Street Eats bag.

  1. What an awesome idea! My daughter ShyAnne and myself would like to do this. I read this and felt the need to help others who are less fortunate then us. I do not have a lot, but it’s the season of giving. Feeling grateful and blessed.
